Dr. Popwell and Cary, a friendly chitchat. . .

Well, just when I posted that the Camps had arrived, in comes Dr. Popwell for a visit! The Camps and Popwells friendship goes back a few years. . . they're all smiles about Emma.

We've gotten quite a few gift baskets both yesterday and today!! Thanks so much for everything!

Day 2 Visitors!

The Camps arrived for a visit to see baby Emma. Lots of fun talk about Dr. Popwell. . .

Some More!

Even More Pics.

More pics.

Day 2!!

Well, night #1 went very well! Emma's taken to breast feeding like she's been doing it for weeks. What a relief.

I know you all understand why I didn't post anything yesterday afternoon or last night. . . if you don't understand, have a baby! HAHA!! It's everything I thought it would be. . . and TONS more!

Jordan's finally taking a bath. . . she's thrilled. Oh, and what is the deal with "hospital food". Why do they have to follow the stereotype?? I think it's a great diet plan if you're willing to stay with it.

Anyway, here's a "few" pics.

Welcome Emma Ray Huber!!

Well, she's finally here. She's so big, I think she's almost ready to walk.

Emma Ray Huber

Born April 29, 2008 at 12:11pm

8 lbs 9 oz

21" long

10:30AM - Wow, Not here yet. . . waiting patiently.

10cm. . . everything is hunky dory (sp?). We've been waiting for Emma to start crowning on her own without Jordan pushing. This helps everything stretch for a bit so it minimizes the chance of having to do an episiotomy (sp again?). So, I know I said she was coming earlier, but now we're waiting, patiently. I've got more pics to put up so, stay tuned. I'll get the finale up after we settle down.

PS. Thanks for all of your comments of support!! Jordan's my new hero!! I have a complete new respect for her pain tolerance. Bad thing is, when she nicks herself slicing onions. . . I know better!! HAHAHA

9:30am Update - Epidural IN

Well, not much time to post pics so i'll make this quick. We were in a panic to get the epidural because she was hurting so bad. We got it in at 9:00. At 9:15am, she's dilated to 9cm and we're gettin' ready to bring Emma into this world.

Why am I shaking? This is so awesome!!

7:45 - Dr. Popwell arrives!

4cm dialated. Waters broken. Everything is good to go!! Still no pain meds either. Jordan says, "How come nobody told me that getting the waters broken hurt so bad??!!!"

Meet Dr. Popwell (caught off guard) and Grandpa Zimm. Grandaddy Rick and Mimi are here also. More pics coming soon!

7:15am Update - PIT is in! Bring on the Baby!

Well, the night shift nurse came in to get the Oxytocin (Pitocin) drip going at 7am. She said, "Girl, I thought for sure you were going to have that baby on me last night!!". Now that the PIT is in, things are going to get rough.

My parents just arrived and brought a couple of gifts! YAY!! Gifts!!

Ok, so, if I don't have an 8ish post, then we're working here.

Thanks for all of your prayers! They are much appreciated and we are very grateful!

Til then. . .

6:10 AM Update

Good morning everyone! The news is on! Where's Big Joe with my weather??? Dangit!!

Well, we nearly dozed through the 5am update. Didn't see much change in contraction frequency or intensity so I decided to ride out the hour. As you can see in the chart below, there's been a change for the 6 o'clock update though!! Coming 1 to 1.5 minutes apart and pegging the scale. Jordan still hasn't complained much about pain either. She's trying to go straight to Epi without any narcotics. I think she's doing incredible! I actually dozed for about 5 minutes and I think she did too. . . nah, maybe it was just me.

I think that once the ball gets rolling here, the updates won't be every hour. Sorry. I'll have some important things to do. :-)

3:00am update!

Well, steady as she goes! CZ is getting kinda sleepy. We just talked to my sister (on the phone in the pic) who unfortunately is in Lagos, Nigeria without power. You'd think Chevron, of all companies could get something like that figured out. (that rant is for another time)

Check out the fetal monitor chart now. Contractions off the chart but Jordan's unbelievable!! She just says "ouch" and that's that. I'd be in tears! Blood pressure is good, Emma's HR is great!

I'll be back in a bit!

4:15am Update

Not much has changed. We've opened up the ITunes and are jammin' away to Jordan's Labor Playlist. Nothing like a little James Brown, Beatles, Van Morrison, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Janis Joplin, and many more to get ya through the night! I was just talking about how I feel like I'm at an old youth group "Lock-In". Is it Tuesday, or still Monday? You know that feeling. Luckily, Jordan let me get about 3 or 4 hours of sleep before we came to the hospital "yester-eve". She, on the other hand, didn't. Hopefully the music will be a good pick-me-up for her.
When Jordan sits up, the fetal monitor picks up her HR. . . 72!!! BP 110/61, right on target for Jordan. Yeah, she's doing good, but a little sleepy. . . ya think?

Getting Ready for Emma Ray's Arrival

Well, it's time at last. Emma was due April 24th, and it's now midnight, 12am on the 29th. As everything at home is done and all we do now is wait! The myths of how to induce naturally are all busted. . . take that MythBusters! The 2-alarm chili, walking, and stairmaster, amongst other things didn't do it. At our appointment today, Dr. Popwell decided it was time. We arrived at 11:30pm and Jordan is getting Prostaglandin to help soften her cervix and get things ready and going. Jordan is signing her life away as I type this! I'll keep posting updates and pics as the night goes on.

Cheers everyone!

1:15am April 29th

Well, believe it or not, she's 2cm dilated on her own and her cervix is "really thin". She's having contractions, about 5 minutes apart. I'll take more pics of the contraction chart when they get closer together, it'll be fun!

Actually, since I've taken the picture, they're 3 minutes apart.
