7 Months - Happy Holidays!!!

Hey everyone!

Well we had our first family pictures taken. I am posting the best of these for all to see. She looked so cute in her little Christmas dress and loves posing. I think we have a camera hog on our hands! What a personality! I wonder where she gets that from. Hmmm, maybe her papaw!

She is growing so big and really starting to get active. I have started using the word no all of a sudden. Hope everyone has a great holiday. I will have to post the Christmas morning pictures after Christmas. I am sure they will be quite interesting.

6 months!

Well we hope everyone had a happy halloween. Emma's 6 month checkup went great! 26 inches long, 15 1bs. She has started back on solid food and is loving it. We haven't found a food yet she won't eat! Her appetite she inherited from me unfortunately. Halloween was fun. We spent it at mom and dad's eating pizza and handing out candy. Emma only made it till 7 and then passed out but she looked sooo cute! Check out the pictures from that night. We also went to the fair that day. Check out the picture of the giraffe. We fed it together but she was uninterested. I thought she would be scared but she just looked at it.

Our 5 month old baby girl!

Hey everyone!
Well things are certainly changing in the Huber household. Instead of a sweet quiet baby that sleeps all the time all of a sudden we have a squirmy girl trying to crawl, grabbing and throwing everything in sight, and finding it hilarious to scream for no aparent reason sending me running from the other room only to find her smiling and laughing at her idiotic mother. She is soooo cute and is getting funner every day. She is fully sitting up which makes it so much easier on me. These pictures tell it all!

Emma's 4 Months Old!!

Holy cow! 4 months already??!!! 13lb 15oz, 26" tall! Before I get to the talking, don't forget to check out the new pics we've put up!

Hey everyone! So 4 months and she's doing awesome. I went back to work and it has been quite an adjustment, mainly for me and Stephen. Emma is staying with mom and loving every minute of it. She started stage 1 vegetables and we are experimenting with which ones she will like the best. Hope everyone is well!

Emma wanted to say something to everyone "Ga, Ahhh YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, ga, urp, hehe!" Which tranlates to: "I love you all and thank you for the neat stuff!"

Emma's 3 Months Old!!

Ok, Stephen here. Good news! Emma had her 3 month appointment! All is well and she passed all of the 3 month development tests as well as all of the 4 month tests!! Sweet! All I can say is, she gets it honestly. I mean, from Jordan and all. We tried to go get Pics made on Saturday at Target. HA! With a 5pm appointment, and after waiting an hour, the camera broke halfway through. No good pics. Soooooo, we're going back. (and getting LOTS of free schwag!)

The good stuff:
12lbs 4.7oz
24" long

Check out some of the recent pics! I'll have them all up on the picasaweb site shortly. Stop by and check them out!

EMMA is two months old!

Hey everyone,
Well, since I am out of school for the summer and Stephen is at work everyday I have offically been put in charge of the blog. I griped at him for not updating it and was given the job. Emma is two months old in one week. I can not believe it. It has definitely been a wild ride so far. She has had a few very minor health problems like reflux and baby acne. Now we are starting to deal with cradle crap but she is still gorgeous. Her looks have changed sooo much everyone needs to check out the latest pictures we've uploaded to picasaweb.

Saturday, May 10

Hey everyone! I figure it's time for another update. Have you ever changed a dirty diaper in the back of an explorer, in the parking lot of Hobby Lobby? I'm sure some of you have a similar hilarious story. All I can say is, thank GOD for changing pads, otherwise the explosion during changing would have ruined the back of the SUV. I don't think we'd EVER get THAT out! Then, to make it even more fun, we ran out of wipes. . . and 4 diapers for a day's outing didn't work out either. Man can she poop!!

Anyway, Melissa Stephens has posted the proofs from Emma's 1 Week Old Photo Shoot. Check them out. They're only available for a week or so. Ain't she just beautiful? (Spoken like a truly proud papa!)

You'll need to go to the "gallery" section and scroll down. On the left column, click on "Emma's" gallery. The password is "Jordan" (Case sensitive too.)

Let us know what you guys think!

Thanks again for all of your support and help! This has been like my fraternity's Hell Week (only MUCH more fun and absolutely no beer!)

Cheers!

Week 1 Update

WE MADE IT THROUGH A WEEK!! HOLY COW!! We got really concerned when Jordan's milk didn't come in and Emma lost 12.26% of her body weight, down from 8lb 9oz to 7lb 8oz (weighed last Friday). Luckily, at Monday's doctor appointment, she was back up to 7lb 15oz!! Outstanding! Anyway, we've only had 2 completely sleepless nights (one being last night). We've been hittin' the town with her all week too! Errands for most of the day Monday, and her first photo shoot and Target shopping trip yesterday! Oooh, that reminds me, I got all of the video edited. Unfortunately, it's too friggin big to post, but I'll post snippets when I can. In the meantime, here's a little 3am "Labor Dance" video for ya. . . gotta have fun somehow!

We're Home!!!

First things first, all of the pics are up!

http://picasaweb.google.com/stephenandjordanhuber

Well, I know it's been a couple of days, but like I said in an earlier post, if you don't understand that I've been a "little" busy, have a baby!!

Louise and Benny Alley stopped by the hospital before we left to bring a cake and some roses. She's such a sweet lady and has always been so good to us!

Night Number 1 at home wasn't that good. Not good at all. We had this wonderful idea that we were going to "strictly" breastfeed Emma. Well, mother nature is a B sometimes and has her own way of messing up the best made plans! Normally, a newborn isn't hungry and can survive a few days after birth without a lot of food, having colostrum as the only sustenance until the mothers milk comes in. Sometimes, however, the milk doesn't come in when it's supposed to. Not good, baby hungry, baby cry, a lot, a whole lot. After 5 or 6 hours of "troubleshooting", I finally called the emergency hotline and got Dr. Ritch. In a sleepy 2am voice, "Give her 2oz of formula after each breastfeeding." And that was it. Thanks for the manual.

Night #2: 2oz of formula after each breastfeeding. . . we got a total of 7 hours of sleep!! HOLY COW!! Thanks for the manual. . .

Anyway, we're still waiting for the "let down". I think with the pain meds that are drying Jordan up, there's not enough water on earth to keep her hydrated. She's trying to drink it all though!

Finally got some clothes washed, and a 4mi/30min run in today (5/3). Nice break!

Gonna try and get the yard mowed tomorrow. We'll see.

Justin and Angie Haigler, pastor of our church (The Simple Church) and also our neighbor brought us Chili's for dinner tonight. Super good!

We have had TONS of help from family and friends, so don't think we're going this alone. Jordan's mom has been a huge help and blessing, basically living here! Cooking, cleaning, organizing pantries. My mom baby sat this morning while we slept for 3 hours! I felt like a new man! 3 Hours of straight sleep!!

Nene made Chicken and Dumplings and we're having gumbo tomorrow.

In all, we're doing great and Emma is such a blessing that gets better with every minute!

Jordan and I would like to thank our support group of family and friends! Without them, we'd be lost, and stressed to no end! Matt and Carrie (Especially Carrie, for Jordan) have been a HUGE help. I can't tell you how much that means to us! Thank you!

Again, in case you missed it at the beginning, here's ALL of the pics.

Dr. Popwell and Cary, a friendly chitchat. . .

Well, just when I posted that the Camps had arrived, in comes Dr. Popwell for a visit! The Camps and Popwells friendship goes back a few years. . . they're all smiles about Emma.

We've gotten quite a few gift baskets both yesterday and today!! Thanks so much for everything!

Day 2 Visitors!

The Camps arrived for a visit to see baby Emma. Lots of fun talk about Dr. Popwell. . .

Some More!

Even More Pics.

More pics.

Day 2!!

Well, night #1 went very well! Emma's taken to breast feeding like she's been doing it for weeks. What a relief.

I know you all understand why I didn't post anything yesterday afternoon or last night. . . if you don't understand, have a baby! HAHA!! It's everything I thought it would be. . . and TONS more!

Jordan's finally taking a bath. . . she's thrilled. Oh, and what is the deal with "hospital food". Why do they have to follow the stereotype?? I think it's a great diet plan if you're willing to stay with it.

Anyway, here's a "few" pics.

Welcome Emma Ray Huber!!

Well, she's finally here. She's so big, I think she's almost ready to walk.

Emma Ray Huber

Born April 29, 2008 at 12:11pm

8 lbs 9 oz

21" long

10:30AM - Wow, Not here yet. . . waiting patiently.

10cm. . . everything is hunky dory (sp?). We've been waiting for Emma to start crowning on her own without Jordan pushing. This helps everything stretch for a bit so it minimizes the chance of having to do an episiotomy (sp again?). So, I know I said she was coming earlier, but now we're waiting, patiently. I've got more pics to put up so, stay tuned. I'll get the finale up after we settle down.

PS. Thanks for all of your comments of support!! Jordan's my new hero!! I have a complete new respect for her pain tolerance. Bad thing is, when she nicks herself slicing onions. . . I know better!! HAHAHA

9:30am Update - Epidural IN

Well, not much time to post pics so i'll make this quick. We were in a panic to get the epidural because she was hurting so bad. We got it in at 9:00. At 9:15am, she's dilated to 9cm and we're gettin' ready to bring Emma into this world.

Why am I shaking? This is so awesome!!

7:45 - Dr. Popwell arrives!

4cm dialated. Waters broken. Everything is good to go!! Still no pain meds either. Jordan says, "How come nobody told me that getting the waters broken hurt so bad??!!!"

Meet Dr. Popwell (caught off guard) and Grandpa Zimm. Grandaddy Rick and Mimi are here also. More pics coming soon!
